The question every advertiser asks

How do you know the sign was really out there?

Because we only count what we can prove. Every minute in your report passed the same four checks.

A beacon sealed in the sign

The tracker hears it every minute. Take the sign off and the beacon goes quiet, so those minutes stop counting.

Alerts if it's unplugged

The tracker has its own battery. Cut its power and it reports the time and place before it goes dark.

Only verified minutes bill

A position every 60 seconds, matched to a real road. Impossible jumps and parked hours are left out.

Numbers you can check

Impressions come from Caltrans' public traffic counts for the roads driven. The report shows every input.

How an impression is counted

Arithmetic over public data, not a number we made up.

  1. Snap to the roadEach GPS fix becomes a named road, e.g. westbound on Venice Blvd, 2:32 to 2:36pm.
  2. Look up the traffic countThe state's own count for that road, in vehicles per day.
  3. Narrow it to the hourA published hour-of-day curve turns a daily count into vehicles at 2:32pm.
  4. Keep only who can read itTraffic behind the truck, going the same way.
  5. Weight for lightFull weight in daylight, a quarter after dark.
  6. Count peopleMultiply by the standard occupancy per vehicle.
